Body of man found in woodland

THE body of a man was found in a woodland area near Droitwich.

Police have now confirmed that they were called to the scene on Piper’s Hill and Dodderhill Commons, known locally as Hanbury Woods, on Thursday (April 2) over concerns for the welfare of a person there.

Locals reported a large emergency services presence on Hanbury Road, including police and paramedics.

After arriving on the scene, officers found the body of a man. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

“We were called to woodland in Hanbury shortly after midday on Thursday following reports for concern for the welfare of a person there,” a West Mercia Police spokesperson said.

“Sadly, the body of a man was located. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
