A PHOTO has shown the aftermath of a fire on the Malvern Hills.
The image, taken by a crew member from Ledbury Fire Station, shows a firefighter dampening down a large area of blackened grass after the fire took hold on Happy Valley on Sunday (May 3).
The blaze eventually covered two hectares of hillside before being brought under control.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said it sent four fire engines, two off-road vehicles and a water carrier to the scene.

Ledbury Fire Station said it was just one of a number of incidents it attended over the Bank Holiday weekend, having also been called to two crashes, two incidents involving drone deployments and two false alarms for a bin fire and a fallen aircraft.
“From one call to the next, crews have been kept on their toes across the weekend,” a spokesperson said.
“Incidents were spaced just enough to catch our breath, then straight back out the door again.
“That’s the nature of the job – unpredictable, demanding, and never dull.
“A huge shoutout to all our firefighters who have worked tirelessly to keep the community safe, showing commitment and professionalism every step of the way.”
