Time running out to enter these writing contests

IT is the last week for entries for a series of competitions.

Worcestershire Literary Festival and Fringe CIC run three annual writing competitions.

This year the team extended the closing date for Flash Fiction and Young Writers, bringing them inline with the Worcestershire Poet Laureate Competition, and all close on Friday.

Young Writers is free to enter, the theme is ‘Wonder’ and the limit is 300 words (open genre).

It’s judged by age category — junior is school years three to six, intermediate is years seven to nine and senior is years 10 to 12.

The winners will be announced at Worcestershire Literary Festival Launch on Sunday, June 7 at 2pm in Huntingdon Hall foyer bar.

It will also see the winners of the Flash Fiction Competition and Worcestershire Poet Laureate final crowned.

The festival partners for the writing competitions with publisher Black Pear Press which produces anthologies featuring the best entries.
