What is a Blue Flag status?
A Blue Flag award is widely regarded as the gold standard for beaches, guaranteeing the quality of bathing water.
Blue Flag beaches must demonstrate environmental education and information, have high-quality water, be safe with lifeguard patrols, and show environmental management, such as public toilets.
The bay in Wales has been described as an “unspoilt beach” offering surfing and other water sports, tidal pools and a waterfront cafe.
There is a designated area for water sports, and lifeguards are on duty at the beach. lifeguards
About 100 meters from the beach is a large car park with some disabled spaces.
What facilities are at Rest Bay?
According to The Beach Guide, Rest Bay has a café, but for more facilities, the town centre of Porthcawl is about a mile away.
It said: “The town can be reached along a cycle track.
