Men skulking aroung minutes before SUV stolen from family home

THIEVES stole an SUV from outside the owner’s home in the early hours of the morning.

Two men were caught on CCTV at around the time that the black Omoda 5 was taken from the driveway of a residential address in Pershore at 1.59am on Monday.

The owner, who did not want to be named, said that the culprits tried other car doors nearby and potentially used a stolen black Mazda as a lookout post.

The person said: “The registration of the Omoda is VN25 BVW but the thieves might have changed the plates.

“It has a small round dent on the boot and a small scuff mark on the right-hand side of the boot or quarter panel

“I’d ask everyone to keep a lookout as it’s possible it’s been dumped or hidden somewhere.”

The resident added that an expensive motocross bike was stolen on the same road last year.

Omoda 5 models are worth around £26,000 new and the theft comes at a time when top of the range SUVs are being stolen for export.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We were called at around 1.11am on Monday, May 25, to reports of a theft of a motor vehicle from an address in Pershore.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
