John Wade, 45 and of no fixed abode, was convicted of sexual assault, following an incident which took place in February 2025.

He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday (June 1), where he was given 26 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months.

The sentence was suspended due to an amendment in the Sentencing Act 2026, which introduced a presumption that custodial sentences of 12 months or less should be suspended.

Wade was also ordered to register with the police for 10 years and carry out 30 days of rehabilitation activity.

A restraining order was handed down, meaning he must not contact the victim. The order is in place until June 1, 2031.
