Teamwork, eggs, and a dash of friendly competition powered a recent fundraising effort.
Specsavers in Worcester raised more than £335 for Sensory Matters Worcestershire, a charity supporting people with sensory loss, through a mix of in-store activities and a sponsored sports day.
Fundraising began in April with activities including a colouring contest, a ‘guess the name of the bunny’ game, and other family-friendly events.
The team later took part in a sports day hosted by the Alcester branch, where they competed in badminton, capture the flag, a 100m sprint, and the classic egg and spoon race.
Dean Roberts, store director, said: “Sensory Matters is a fantastic local charity that does such important work supporting people in our community with sensory loss.
“A huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts in store, and a big shout-out to the Specsavers Alcester team for inviting us to join their sports day.
“It was a great day with plenty of friendly competition, but most importantly, a brilliant way to raise money for an important cause.”
In total, £341 was raised for Sensory Matters Worcestershire, which supports people who are blind, visually impaired, Deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, or living with dual sensory loss.
The charity relies on community donations to keep its advice services and local support networks running.
