A woman alleged to have caused a crash at a Worcestershire junction because of careless driving saw her case dropped after a mistake from the police.
Kanwaljeet Kaur was alleged to have driven a white Vauxhall Astra on the B4202 at its junction with the A456 in Clows Top, between Tenbury Wells and Bewdley, when she failed to stop at the junction, resulting in a crash involving a second car.
Miss Kaur, 26, appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (July 1) charged with driving without due care and attention.
The court was shown a CCTV video of a white Vauxhall Astra exiting a junction and colliding with a red car.

Before formally entering a plea, Miss Kaur told the court she had tried to stop the car, but the brakes had been faulty and did not stop her in time.
When looking at the West Mercia Police report, prosecutor Andrew Saunders spotted that Miss Kaur had mentioned the issue with her brakes to officers at the time of the incident.
Her vehicle should have been seized by officers at the time in order for it to be checked to see if there was a fault with the vehicle.
However, it had not been, and the prosecution withdrew the case as a result.

Mr Saunders said: “It is not in the public interest to prosecute. The police should have seized the vehicle.”
Charles Moyle , head magistrate, said: “This is definitely the week to go and buy a lottery ticket.
“The police did not follow the right procedure. You are free to go.”
The 26-year-old, of Bushey Fields Road, Dudley, thanked the prosecution and the magistrates’ before leaving the court room.
