Four pubs Reborn after big‑money makeovers

THESE four pubs have undergone major refurbishments in 2026. 

Landlords and business owners alike have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds investing in these pubs with a renewed focus on getting customers back through the doors.

The Blackpole Inn

Blackpole Inn officially reopened its doors in March with a striking new exterior and interior refurbishment to go alongside its conversion into a ‘sports pub’.

The Marston’s pub was relaunched under the brand’s new sports concept, Grandstand, and received a £349k makeover.

The Westcroft

The Westcroft, on Ombersley Street West in Droitwich, reopened its doors this month under the management of Scott Flear and Dan Lancaster and a £273K refurbishment.

Outside, The Westcroft now has new lighting and signage to greet customers, as well as a refurbished garden seating area for 45-50 people.

It also got an updated main bar and snug area.

The Crown Inn

The Crown Inn in Peopleton reopened in April 2026 after a two-week closure for internal improvements and a refreshed food offering under new management.

Landlord Josh Matheson said: “I’m super excited and can’t wait to get back to serving the lovely community again.

“The main changes are a complete redecoration, new furniture, a brand new back bar, the garden has been refreshed with help from the local community, benches have been sanded and painted, the lawn has been done, there are some new bits and bobs in the toilets, new beer lines, a couple of new products, and more.”

The King’s Head

The King’s Head in Upton upon Severn reopened in June 2026 after a £350,000 refurbishment.

The pub underwent a full interior and exterior overhaul, with upgraded riverside outdoor seating, a new management team, and an expanded food and drinks offer.

Tony Riley, operations manager at Punch Pubs and Co, said: “We’re thrilled to see The Kings Head reopen following this significant investment.
