A WORCESTER choir is set to take to the stage this summer to raise funds for people affected by dementia.
Worcester Male Voice Choir will host its 2026 Mix-Tape Concert Live! at the John Moore Theatre, King’s School, on Saturday, July 25.
The event, which starts at 7pm, will support Alzheimer’s Society, the choir’s chosen charity of the year for 2025/26.
Organisers say the concert aims to bring the community together for an evening of music while raising awareness and vital funds for dementia support and research.
Choir chairman Graham Heath said the cause was particularly close to members’ hearts.
“I am really looking forward to the event and to raising as much as we can for Alzheimer’s Society at this summer’s concert,” he said.
“Our hope is to bring joy to the community while raising awareness of dementia and supporting families affected by it.
“Many of our choir members have personal links to dementia, whether through parents, family members or close friends.”
Dementia remains the UK’s biggest killer, with one in three people born today expected to develop the condition during their lifetime.
Luke Selibas, regional fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society, welcomed the support.
“We are so grateful that Worcester Male Voice Choir have chosen to support Alzheimer’s Society,” he said.
“Every event and every pound raised helps make a life-changing difference to people living with dementia.
“There are around a million people living with dementia in the UK, including approximately 13,000 in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.”
He added that fundraising plays a vital role in providing support services, funding research and campaigning for change.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £18 and are available online at https://www.ticketsource.com/booking/select/wvypkvlmjomn.
