A housebuilder is backing a rugby charity’s work to support people through sport.
Redrow Midlands, currently developing the Royal Gardens site in Worcester, has donated £1,500 to the Worcester Warriors Foundation to help expand its community programmes and reach more people in need.
Dan Hart, fundraising and development lead at the Worcester Warriors Foundation, said: “Demand for our support is increasing, with more individuals, educators and families seeking help than ever before.
“This funding will ensure we can respond effectively to that need, extend our impact and continue delivering meaningful, lasting change for the people and communities we serve.”
The foundation uses sport to engage and inspire people of all ages, helping them to lead active, healthy lives.
The donation will also support its volunteer programme, which assists people who are isolated, disadvantaged, or living with disabilities and long-term conditions.
The money comes from Redrow Midlands’ community fund and is delivered through the Barratt Redrow Foundation, which has contributed more than £20 million to good causes since its launch.
Joanne Watson, sales director at Redrow Midlands, said: “The Worcester Warriors Foundation is a fantastic charity that supports local people in need, and we are proud to offer this donation.
“Building thriving and happy communities means investing in local groups, so it is important to help these brilliant organisations to continue supporting those who need it most.
“We hope the charity continues to grow and is able to provide a supportive space for the members of the community to improve their physical and mental health for years to come.”
