MORE details have been revealed about a two-car crash in Welland that saw an air ambulance land at the scene.
The crash, involving a Renault Clio and a Volvo XC40, happened at 7:25 pm on Saturday, July 25, in Drake Street, Welland.
New details from West Midlands Ambulance Service revealed that four people were taken to hospital, including one who was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Drake Street in Welland just before 7:30 pm on Saturday (July 25) and sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a critical care paramedic, and the Midlands Air Ambulance to the scene.
“On arrival, crews found two cars had been involved in a collision.
“One of the drivers, a man, was removed from his car with the assistance of fire service colleagues before being treated by ambulance staff for serious injuries and was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
“Woman treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed on blue lights to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

“Two further patients – a man and a woman – were treated for injuries not believed to be serious and conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.”

The Clio is believed to have been travelling along Drake Street from the direction of Upton upon Severn towards Ledbury and the Volvo travelled in the opposing direction.
West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “Anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, who may have seen the vehicles or may have CCTV or dashcam footage, is encouraged to get in touch.
“Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is asked to email SCIUSouth@westmercia.police.uk quoting incident number 435i of July 25, 2026.”
