A DETECTIVE inspector has welcomed the jailing of a paedophile who reoffended shortly after being given a second chance.
Jude Maruska, 23, of Lingmell Court, Worcester, was jailed for 44 months on July 27 after breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), breach a suspended sentence, and inciting a child into sexual activity between May and June of this year.
The offences came to light after officers from West Mercia Police’s Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) found that Maruska had installed Snapchat on his phone, in direct violation of his SHPO.
The SHPO had been imposed in August 2024 after he was previously given a suspended sentence for child sex offences, where Maruska had requested indecent images from children on social media.

Detective Inspector Colin Berry said: “We are pleased to get a custodial sentence for Maruska who continued to offend, breaching the terms of his SHPO and despite being on suspended sentence.
“We hope this result shows our work to manage offenders is effective in monitoring their behaviour and that we will not hesitate in bringing them back before the courts to face justice if they do re-offend.”
