Travellers camp at Three Counties Showground with this leaving date

TRAVELLERS are camped out on the Three Counties Showground after arriving on Tuesday night.

The large group is reported to be on a field after showing up between 10.15pm and 10.30pm.

The presence is the latest in three unauthorised camps around Worcestershire this week.

A local source said: “The group arrived in a convoy after breaking in through a side gate close to the main entrance and driving onto the north field.

“There around 12 vans and cars on the field, with the vans spread out around the site.

“They are due to leave tomorrow, whether that’s by prior agreement or a writ is unclear.”

The encampment follows travellers leaving Battenhall Playing Fields in Worcester after four days, having been given a trespass order by King’s School which owns the land.

It’s thought that after they left on Tuesday afternoon the group briefly occupied land at the memorial hall in Ombersely, near Droitwich, before leaving in the evening.

The person told the Worcester News that the same group now at the showground.

In August 2024, West Mercia Police took action against an unauthorised encampment at the showground and the car park opposite Malvern Splash on Priory Road.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are aware of the travellers at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern.

“Officers from our Safer Neighbourhood Team in Malvern are monitoring the situation and liaising with the landowner and security team there.

“We expect the travellers will leave by tomorrow (Friday).”
