A YOUNG child has died after being found in a body of water.
Police have confirmed the “incredibly tragic” news after they were called to Badsey to reports that a child had gone missing on Wednesday evening (July 29).
Residents reported a large emergency services presence as police carried out searches in the village.
An air ambulance was also called to the scene.
The child was eventually found unresponsive in a body of water and, despite the best efforts of paramedics and police officers, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed that there was no third-party involvement in the death and have urged people to avoid speculating online.

Police statement
“Officers were called to a report of a missing child in Badsey yesterday evening,” a West Mercia Police spokesperson said.
“Sadly, the child was found unresponsive in a body of water, and a short time later was pronounced dead.
“There is no third-party involvement in the child’s death, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
“This is an incredibly tragic incident. We ask the public to avoid speculation online as this is incredibly distressing to the family and we ask that their privacy is respected at such a difficult time.”

Paramedics also called to scene
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called reports of an incident in Badsey at 6.50pm yesterday.
“One ambulance, two paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.
“On arrival we discovered one patient, a young child.
“Ambulance staff and police worked quickly to treat the patient, but sadly, it became apparent nothing could be done to save them and they were confirmed dead at the scene.”
