ONE of the largest croquet clubs in the region wants to replace a storage shed.
Broadwas Sports Association, home to one of the biggest croquet clubs in the West Midlands, has submitted an application to Malvern Hills District Council to replace its existing storage shed with a more secure unit.
The existing shed has been in place since at least 2009.

The club, a registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) since 1998, previously hosted cricket, football, lawn bowls, and community open days, but now focuses primarily on croquet.
Based at Stoney Ley, Broadwas-on-Teme, near Worcester, it currently operates seven days a week and has 77 members.
According to the club: “The proposal will deliver improved and secure storage facilities to support the ongoing use of the site as an established community facility.
“The proposal represents a practical upgrade to existing infrastructure and will assist in maintaining the operation of the sports grounds.”
Broadwas Parish Council has expressed support for the plans, citing the club’s value as a community asset.
The site is situated in open countryside but is screened by trees and hedgerows.
According to a planning statement, the new shed will be sited on existing hardstanding and will not impact neighbouring properties or the surrounding landscape.
