A YOUNG couple are “fearing for their lives” after being plagued by anti-social behaviour and drug use outside their Platform flat.
Amy Brown said the drug use outside the one-bedroom flat off Pickersleigh Road in Malvern has become so bad that her seven-month-old baby’s blanket sometimes smells of cannabis.
“When my daughter goes to bed, we have got to keep the windows open because it’s so hot,” the 21-year-old said.
“When we are in the front room, we can also sometimes smell it.”
“We also had someone doing coke on the doorstep. I don’t want to bring my daughter up here.”

Reports of vandalism
Miss Brown said her partner Bradley Barber, who she shares the flat with, now parks their car a 10-minute walk away after the windows were smashed.
The couple said they have made multiple complaints to Platform, including to request a CCTV camera be installed, but that no resolution has been reached.
“My partner has to walk 10 minutes to get to his car,” Miss Brown said.
“It’s just one thing after another. We’re fearing for our lives. It’s so depressing.
“We have raised so many complaints with Platform but they haven’t done anything.”

Building safety
She has further concerns about the safety of the building after her partner fell down the stairs while carrying their daughter,
“My partner was carrying my daughter and because the handrail is on the wrong side, he fell down the stairs,” she said.
“Thankfully she was not seriously injured, but the outcome could easily have been tragic.”
Platform’s response
Social housing provider Platform Housing said it was supporting the couple to address the issues.
Marion Duffy, chief operations officer said: “We understand how upsetting anti-social behaviour can be for those affected and we take all reports from our customers seriously.
“Our neighbourhood team has been working with the customer over a period of time to understand the concerns raised and provide appropriate support.
“Where there is evidence of breaches of tenancy, we will always take appropriate action in line with our policies.
“We also continue to work closely with partner agencies to help address anti-social behaviour wherever possible.
“In relation to the concerns raised about the communal staircase, we are arranging for this to be inspected to ensure it meets the required safety standards.
“We remain committed to supporting this customer and will continue to engage with them to discuss any further concerns they may have.”
