AN aunt and niece and duo are gearing up to open a new studio for one of the UK’s rapidly growing workouts.
Megan Parker, 25, said months of work have gone into VEA Reformer, a Reformer Pilates studio near Malvern town centre.
Reformer Pilates, which has seen a boom in popularity across the UK in recent years, uses a bed-like apparatus, with spring resistance, pulleys, straps and a moving carriage.

Taking the leap
Miss Parker, a physiotherapist who lives near Worcester, is a big fan of the workout but had noticed that there wasn’t a dedicated studio in Malvern.
She has teamed up with her aunt Suzy Parker, who has spent the last three decades working as a drama and English teacher, to open one.
“I love Reformer Pilates and I realised there wasn’t a studio in the area,” Miss Parker said.
“I’m a physiotherapist and my aunt is a teacher of 30 years so it’s been a big a change for her.”

The new studio will be based at a former office space in Manor Park off Albert Road North.
It has undergone months of refurbishment and is now just a few days away from opening.
“We have found a lovely location in the Manor Park in the tennis club,” Miss Parker said.
“It used to be an office space and it’s undergone a complete refurbishment.
“We got the keys in March and we’ve been refurbishing it ever since. It has been a labour of love.
“We are so excited. It’s such a nice feeling seeing it all come together. We’re also a little bit nervous because this is all new. It’s definitely been a learning curve.”
The studio will hold an open day on Monday, August 31, with classes to begin on Tuesday, September 1.
