A community funding scheme has helped groups secure more than £2.5 million in grants.
The Boost, based in Worcestershire, helps small charities and community organisations access vital funding.
Founder Keith Slater said: “We had been creeping ever closer to £2.5 million for some time and then suddenly awards of £30k were made and we are over that landmark figure.”
The scheme only charges a fee when a grant is successfully awarded, making it an accessible option for organisations with limited resources.
Mr Slater said: “This is so important for many small, local community organisations and partly explains the growing demand for The Boost’s services.
“Small community groups do not have the resources to pay out large, initial fees and so need an organisation like The Boost to help them find funding to take their ideas forward.
“And while all this is happening, The Boost has also quietly put over £2 million into the local economy.”
With demand continuing to rise, the team has recently expanded to include Kelly-Louise Riding of Embodied Communities, who has supported and helped many vulnerable women across the county, and Emily Johnson of Artist’s Clubhouse, a major player in Worcester’s Art scene.
Mr Slater said: “On one level more, and more varied, organisations are now approaching The Boost for support.
“If we have a core team with a much wider range of skills and expertise then it is almost certain that we can offer a much better and more efficient service.
“Kelly and Emily bring a wide range of skills and professionalism with them.
“I am so pleased to be working with them both.
“And on another level, The Boost needs a larger team to respond to this ever-growing demand for its services.”
The Boost is now aiming to reach its next target of £3 million in secured grants.
