AN air ambulance was spotted landing in Stourport at the weekend as emergency services responded to a ‘medical emergency’.
According to West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS), two ambulances and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity were called to reports of a medical emergency on Vernon Road on Saturday (September 5).
The incident was first reported at 6.34pm.
Videos shared on social media showed the air ambulance landing in War Memorial Park.
WMAS said that on arrival, crews discovered one patient, a woman, with ambulance staff administering advanced life support at the scene.
The patient was subsequently conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by land ambulance.
The incident was also attended by West Mercia Police officers, with the force saying that a police response to an incident of this nature in a public place is ‘standard procedure’.
West Mercia Police also say that no criminal offences were committed.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended a medical incident on Vernon Road in Stourport on Saturday evening (5 September).
“A police response to an incident of this nature in a public place is standard procedure, and there were no criminal offences committed.”
