A popular city café has temporarily closed for a major transformation with work underway to turn the business into an Italian restaurant.
Cafe Piano on Friar Street in Worcester is currently being refurbished to turn it into an Italian restaurant, with plans to reopen the business in its new form next month.
The family-run, independent cafe is known for featuring a live pianist—typically playing during Friday lunchtimes and Saturday evenings—as well as soft piano background music throughout the week.

A spokesman for Cafe Piano said: “It’s going to be an Italian restaurant.
“We’re excited about it.
“It’s going to become something much better.”
Renovations include painting and decorating to create a more rustic atmosphere.
