Man spotted running across rail tracks as train approaches

A person was spotted “running across the tracks” at Hartlebury Railway Station.

A commuter reported seeing the man run from one platform to the other as an “oncoming train” was approaching.

The commuter said: “The train was sounding its horn. We were held for a moment.

“He got kicked off the train.”

West Midlands Railway confirmed the man was taken to a place of safety.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Railway said: “A train service at Hartlebury was subject to minor delays due to a trespass incident on the railway line this morning.

“The individual was taken to a place of safety and the service resumed shortly after.”

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “We were called at 11.46am today (Thursday, September 17) to reports of a person walking on the tracks at Hartlebury railway station.

“A man was located by officers and given words of advice.”
