A POPULAR farm park had to suddenly shut after a nearby water pipe burst.
Little Owl Farm Park in Comhampton was forced to close today (September 23) after Severn Trent workmen allegedly “went through a water pipe” on nearby Comhampton Lane.
The mistake left the farm park without any water on site and left visitors without any handwashing facilities.
Severn Trent has apologised for the disruption and promised to fix the pipe as quickly as possible.
Posting on Facebook, staff at Little Owl Farm Park said: “Unplanned closure – Wednesday, 23rd September.
“Unfortunately, the workmen down the road have just gone through a water pipe, which now means we have no water on site.
“This therefore means we cannot have visitors on site without handwashing facilities.
“Please do not make your way to us today, we are unaware how long it will take to fix, but judging by the amount of the water running down the lane, we expect it to be several hours.
“For those who have prebooked, please email our reception team, who will offer you a ticket transfer or refund.
“Massive apologies for the disappointment, and as soon as the water is back up and running, we will let you know.
“Thank you for your continued patience.”
Little Owl Farm Park has been approached for further comment.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We are sorry for the disruption caused by a burst water pipe on Comhampton Lane.
“Our teams are on site, and we have engineers in the area looking to move water around the network so the repairs can go ahead quickly and safely.
“We’re know this has had an impact on the local community, and we appreciate their patience and understanding as we carry out these emergency works.
“We’re working to fix the pipe and get everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
At around 3.20pm today (September 23), Severn Trent confirmed that the pipe has been fixed.
