A derelict former sports centre has been branded a “disgrace” by residents.
In photos shared courtesy of Drone Media, the remains of the abandoned Stourport Sports Centre can be seen with people calling it an “eyesore”.
Stourport Sports Centre was closed in July 2016 to coincide with the opening of the £11.9m Wyre Forest Leisure Centre.
Back in November 2016, the former leisure centre and its associated car parks were sold for £500,000.
Previously a plan for approved to demolish the site to make way for a new holiday caravan park.
Residents reacted to the photos of the “once loved part of town” on Facebook and said it is a “disgrace” that nothing has been done to redevelop the site.
Drone Media posted: “It’s a shame seeing this place in such a state. Loved it when it was open, not sure how much longer it will be standing.”
Another person said: “It’s dangerous and an eyesore.”
