UK drivers over age of 70 issued Highway Code rule update

Drivers over the age of 70 years old in the UK have been issued an updated reminder on a must-know Highway Code rule.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service posted a notice on Wednesday, October 14 to alert road users over the age of 70.

The update, posted across social media including on Facebook, said: “Once you reach 70, you need to renew your driving licence every three years and make sure you continue to meet the eyesight requirements for driving.

“Our eyesight can change over time, sometimes without us noticing, so looking after your eye health is an important part of staying safe on the road.

“Regular eye tests can help make sure your vision is fit for driving.”
