A motorist who was caught breaking the speed limit by 10mph on a motorway through Worcestershire has been banned from the roads.
Martyn Jones appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (October 28) to be sentenced for speeding on the M50.
The court heard that the 57-year-old, of Brynach Way, Cowbridge, South Glamorgan, was caught by a manned speed camera positioned on a bridge over the motorway driving at 80mph on January 25.

Jones had been convicted of three driving offences since 2023 and faced a six-month disqualification.
Mr Shoker, who represented Jones at the hearing, told the court that his client did not wish to pursue exceptional hardship to avoid a disqualification, and he knew he would lose his licence.
The court heard that Jones had been speeding to get to his business because of a break-in.

Mr Shoker said: “It was a clear dual carriageway, and he was stressed; that was the sole reason for this.”
Sentencing, Wendy Taylor, chair of the bench, told Jones she was sorry to hear about the break-in, but explained that he would be disqualified for six months because he reached 12 points on his licence as a result.
He also received a £333 fine.
