A property in Stourport has been featured on a hit BBC show leaving the family-run estate agents “delighted”.
On an episode of Homes Under the Hammer, which first aired last Thursday (July 2), Dion Dublin took a trip to the riverside town to look at a 300-year-old property.
Introducing the town, presenter Martel Maxwell said: “This is Stourport-on-Severn. The town didn’t exist until the mid-18th century but with the arrival of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire, and Birmingham canal links, it became a distribution hub for goods moving to and from the West Midlands.
“In recent years, it has become more of a tourist destination.”

In April 2019, Dion visited a canalside auction lot to look at the canalside cottage, which had a guide price of £110,000.
The ex-footballer said he was “very excited” about the property and described the town’s location as “amazing”.
The one-bedroom, semi-detached property needed a lot of work with no insulation in the walls and a dated interior.

The layout also needed to be reconsidered.
The property was sold for £110,000.
The buyer said he wanted to live closer to his sons in Birmingham and to have something to do, so taking on the project was the ideal opportunity.
Six and a half years after his first visit, Dion returned to the town to see the project after it was finally completed, and the property was transformed to create a stunning space.

The property came complete with a new entrance hall, open plan kitchen and living space, large skylights, a dining room, a third bedroom which was being used as a record room, and an additional living space leading to a home office.
The project took more than half a decade to complete after first being purchased in 2019.
The budget was £65,000, but the total cost came to just under £100,000.
After the transformation, the property was valued at £350,000 to £370,000.

Speaking after the episode aired last week, the team at Hayden Estates, which recently sold the property, said they were “shocked” when they saw it featured on the show.
Director Lin Hayden, who runs the business with daughter Sara, said: “We were really excited to see the property featured on the show as we’ve only recently sold it to new owners. It was really lovely to see the property from start to finish – Tony created such a lovely space.
“We didn’t know it was appearing on the show. We got an email from the last owner telling us to keep an eye out for the episode. We were so shocked, but he did a fabulous job. I still can’t believe it.
“The property was in such a great location on the canal with lovely flora and fauna. It is a really lovely community and the new owner is delighted.”
The episode aired last week and is available to watch on BBC IPlayer.
