A care home is reaching beyond its walls to support people with dementia in the wider community.
Willow Bank House in Pershore is sharing its dementia care expertise to help individuals stay connected, share memories, and enjoy meaningful conversations.
Paul Chambers, dementia and wellbeing lead at the home, recently visited the Evesham & District Meeting Centre to deliver a Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) session focused on ‘Celebrations and Changing Traditions.’
Mr Chambers said: “From the moment I walked through the door, the team made me feel so welcome.
“Meeting their incredible clients was the true highlight of the day.
“Hearing their rich life stories, shared memories and unique experiences was both deeply moving and inspiring.”
CST uses themed activities and discussions to stimulate thinking, memory, and conversation, helping people with dementia connect with others in a supportive environment.
The Evesham & District Meeting Centre offers ongoing support for people with dementia and their families, providing a friendly space for activities and social connection.

Mr Chambers’ visit reflects Willow Bank’s commitment to building relationships with local dementia organisations and extending its expertise into the community.
Carole Hall, home manager at Willow Bank, said: “For us, supporting people living with dementia shouldn’t stop at our front door.
“There is so much knowledge and experience within our team, and if we can take some of that out into the community, build relationships with local organisations and help more people living with dementia and their families, that can only be a good thing.
“Days like this are what community care is all about.
“Seeing a room filled with laughter, shared memories and genuine connection is a lovely reminder that a dementia diagnosis doesn’t mean those things have to disappear.”
The session was supported by the meeting centre team, including Tracey, Sally, Colette, Carolyn, and Debbie, who help deliver ongoing activities and support for people with dementia.
