A Worcester chiropractic clinic is celebrating its 40th anniversary by expanding its team.
The St Johns clinic on Bromyard Road has been treating patients since 1986, when it was founded by chiropractor Ewen Merry.
Initially established a few doors away, the clinic moved to its current location in the spring of 1989.
In 2013, chiropractor David Cooper bought the clinic when Mr Merry moved away.
Mr Cooper said: “In 40 years, I would say we have seen at least 20,000 people, quite possibly closer to 30,000.
“That’s a fairly sizeable number in a city the size of Worcester, but the most remarkable thing is how many people are still attending the clinic from the late 80’s and early 90’s.
“Ewen was clearly doing something right when they first came in, and I hope the standard of care is still up there.”
The clinic is set for its busiest year ever in 2026, with a sixth chiropractor joining the team this September.

James Lloyd returns to Worcester after five years studying at the University of South Wales, with a distinction award for his master’s degree in chiropractic.
An accomplished golfer who has played at European level, Mr Lloyd is planning to incorporate his golfing experience into his clinical work and has already started working with local golf professionals.
He said: “I’ve been lucky enough to observe at the clinic numerous times whilst I was a student, so I feel I already know the team and how they work.
“Starting my career in my home city, with people I’ve watched practise for years, is about as good a first job as I could have asked for.
“Everyone is really supportive and I can’t wait to get started!”
The clinic received the Patient Partnership Quality Mark from the Royal College of Chiropractors in January, based on patient experience.
With Mr Lloyd’s arrival, the Worcester Chiropractic Clinic will have six chiropractors and two massage therapists.
