ENFORCEMENT action against a dog kennel following noise complaints has been paused following an appeal.
Beloved Dog Kennels near Flyford Flavel has appealed its noise abatement order by Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) following several complaints.
WRS revealed it has paused its enforcement action while the noise abatement order is appealed – but said it is ultimately up to the kennel to decide how it will reduce its noise.

Simon Wilkes, director for Worcestershire Regulatory Services, which deals with statutory nuisance on behalf of Wychavon, said: “We can confirm a noise abatement notice was issued to the business following noise monitoring activity, which identified a statutory nuisance.
“The notice only requires the business to reduce the nuisance.
“How the business does this is a matter for them.
“As the notice has been appealed, the enforcement process has been paused until it is ruled on by a court.
“We are waiting for the court to set a date for the appeal to be heard.”

Beloved Dog Kennels manager Jess Bollerod said some of their dogs may need to be put down if noise complaints lead to the business’s closure.
The business, in addition to daycare and boarding for dogs, also serves as a rescue centre and has several dogs considered unsuitable for a home.
These are cared for onsite indefinitely.
It is feared that these dogs will have to be euthanised if the order, which can result in a hefty fine, forces the kennel to close.
Hundreds have since rallied behind the kennel and helped raise £4,200 to support the kennel with legal costs, sound and ecological surveys, and planning fees.
Over 7,000 have also signed a petition to pause any enforcement action whilst its appeal, planning applications, and extensive noise reduction improvements are properly reviewed and assessed.
Previously, Ms Bollerod said: “We take dogs that have nowhere else to go.
“If we are closed down, where do they go?
“Nobody wants to have the dogs put down.
“It’s very upsetting as some have been with us for three or four years and they are our family.
“We are trying everything.
“It’s taking a toll on all of us because we are still doing our normal jobs alongside this.”
