‘Evidence of cocaine found in toilets of every pub’ visited by police in quiet town

EVIDENCE of cocaine was found in the toilets of every pub visited by police during an operation in Tenbury Wells.

West Mercia Police revealed it had found the class A drug in every pub toilet it inspected during an operation early this month.

The force also found four of the six commercial premises visited also sold alcohol to someone under the age of eighteen when police carried out test purchases.

The operation took place on April 2.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “Evidence of cocaine use was found in the toilets of every pub visited during the course of the operation, with four of the six commercial premises visited failing ‘test purchases’ by selling alcohol to someone under the age of eighteen.

“The team at Tenbury will be carrying out more checks on licensed premises in the months ahead and will work tirelessly with partner organisations to stamp out the illegal sale of alcohol and drugs in our community.”
