“The cause of the fire is currently unknown – it is something that caught fire near the back of the building.”

What is happening to Evesham’s Riverside Shopping Centre?

Wychavon District Council has submitted a full planning application to demolish the Riverside Shopping Centre.

The site will be raised to ‘slab level’ and will involve the demolition of the entire Riverside Shopping Centre, the centre’s multi-storey car park (all 259 spaces), and 42 Bridge Street and 44 Bridge Street.
A decision on the plans is expected by the end of August, only five months after Wychavon bought the centre and other properties in the town from PJK Investments.

Once demolished, Wychavon intends to create a ‘vibrant mixed-use development’ that will include housing, leisure, and retail.
