FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire at a recycling site near Worcester this morning.
Pershore Fire Station said its crews, alongside Worcester firefighters, helped prevent further spread of the fire at a waste-sorting facility.
It is understood that the fire was at EnviroSort in Norton– a site that handles Worcestershire and Herefordshire’s green bins and the mixed recycling containers at the Household Recycling Centres.

A spokesperson for Pershore Fire Station said: “This morning (Thursday), our crews were mobilised to a fire at a waste sorting facility, alongside a crew from Worcester.

“Upon arrival, two Breathing Apparatus used 1 Hose Reel to extinguish and prevent further fire spread.
“Our team’s swift response to the incident prevented further fire spread and damage.
“Well done to all involved.”
EnviroSort, on Woodbury Lane, has dealt with over a million tonnes of recycling since it opened in 2009.
