Football legend Tony Adams sold his £4 million mansion in the Cotswolds so that his wife can go to university.
The former Arsenal and England captain has parted with his eight‑bedroom home near Cirencester, which he bought in 2002 with his wife, Poppy Teacher.
Set in around five acres, the property boasts a swimming pool, tennis courts, stables and a separate two‑bedroom cottage, and has been snapped up by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.
Reports say the singer paid about £4 million for the house, with no mortgage involved.

Mr Adams explained that the decision to sell was driven by a major change in Ms Teacher’s plans.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential column, the 59-year-old said: “This is a new era for us.
“We’ve sold the house and are returning to London. My wife is going back to school.”
Ms Teacher is beginning a master’s degree in early modern history, and the couple have chosen to relocate to the capital to make that possible.

She recalled the moment she first floated the idea of going back into education.
“I told Tony I wanted to do early modern history and he said, ‘How do you monetise that?’,” she told the column.
Mr Adams said they have already left the Cotswolds and are in temporary accommodation while they hunt for a new base.
He added: “We are now renting while we find a new home in north London. We’re not going back to the Chelsea area where all the Blues are.”
The former defender, who later went into management with clubs including Wycombe Wanderers, Portsmouth and Granada, had spent more than two decades enjoying country life in Gloucestershire.
