A vacant building in Worcester’s historic Shambles could become a bank.
A planning application has been submitted for proposed external changes to 1-2 The Shambles.
The plans involve adding cladding to the front and side, closing off some ground and first-floor openings, and installing a new ATM, louvres, and a security door.
The application site has been vacant since 2021 and was last in use as an Argos catalogue shop.

Planning documents say the ‘degraded’ building is in need of refurbishment before a new occupier moves in.
They add: “It is intended that following the works, the site is currently anticipated to be occupied as a bank.”
