Garden centre ‘delighted’ after farm shop and deli nominated for Muddy Stiletto award

THE manager of a garden centre in Kidderminster said he is ‘delighted’ after its farm shop and deli was nominated for a Muddy Stiletto award.

Hodgehill, which is located on Birmingham Road, has announced that its farm shop and deli has made it into the finals of the Warwickshire & West Midlands Muddy Stilettos Awards 2026 in the ‘Best Farm Shop/Deli’ category.

The Kidderminster-based farm shop and deli has been nominated alongside other businesses from Birmingham, Redditch, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, and Balsall Common.

Rob Clark is the senior manager at Hodgehill and expressed his delight at the nomination.

He said: “We’re delighted to reach the finals of the Muddy Stiletto awards.

“As a local independent business, it’s fantastic to receive recognition from our customers.

“We couldn’t have done this without the support of our hard-working team, so thank you to all of them and our wonderful local suppliers.”

Rob also discussed the history of Hodgehill, from its ‘very humble beginnings’ to its ethos of supporting local producers and independent suppliers.

He said: “Hodgehill started from very humble beginnings, originally just a small shed selling tomatoes grown onsite, and over the years it has grown into a garden centre, café, deli and farm shop offering a wide range of local fruit and vegetables, alongside locally baked bread, dairy products, beers, wines, spirits, and so much more.

“Supporting local producers and independent suppliers has always been at the heart of what we do, so to be recognised for that is something we’re incredibly proud of.

“Our recent refurbishment has helped create a brighter, more welcoming shopping experience while still keeping the rustic charm people know and love about Hodgehill.”

Hodgehill is now asking the public for its support, with voting open for the award until Tuesday, May 26.
