“Joanna is in the advanced stages of talks for I’m a Celebrity and all the signs are looking positive,” a source told The Sun.
“She’s a huge BBC star and it would be a coup if ITV can get her to sign her contract and put her front and centre on their biggest entertainment show.
“Joanna is hugely popular thanks to her role on Gavin & Stacey.
“I’m a Celeb bosses would love to get her in the jungle so the public can get to know the real Joanna.
“She has confided in friends that she’s really keen to take part and wants to go on and make her children proud.”
ITV has been contacted for comment.
The final episode of Gavin & Stacey, which aired on Christmas Day 2024, drew more than 20 million viewers.
Joanna would not be the first from the cast to enter the jungle.
Larry Lamb, who played Mick Shipman, finished seventh in the 2016 series.
Before Gavin & Stacey, the actress appeared in the 1999 BBC adaptation of David Copperfield and played Judy in the 2003 romantic comedy Love Actually.
Last year, she fronted two BBC shows: Joanna Page’s Wild Life and Wynne & Joanna: All at Sea, alongside opera singer Wynne Evans.
She also has previous experience with ITV entertainment, having competed as Pig on The Masked Dancer in 2022.
Following her reveal on the show, Joanna said: “The children don’t know anything — this is their favourite programme.”
