A site manager has been honoured with a top industry award for excellence in housebuilding.
Phil Huffer, who manages the Martley Fields housing development near Worcester, received the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job award for 2026.
It is the second consecutive year he has received the award.
Mr Huffer said: “Winning this award two years in a row marks a really proud moment, and is a recognition of all the hard work, not just from myself but to the office staff and the trades on site.
“To be recognised is an acknowledgement of my years of hard work and we’re hopeful to continue that recognition into future stages of this competition.”
He manages the construction of 83 new homes at Lioncourt Homes’ Martley Fields site.
The development currently includes 33 occupied homes, up from just three at the same time last year.
Mr Huffer has worked in construction since the age of 18, starting as a forklift driver before moving into site management, a role he has held for 13 years.
He is one of only 35 winners in the NHBC’s West region this year, out of 449 site managers honoured across the UK.
Mr Huffer said: “It’s so important to meet our build programme while delivering quality in all areas.
“Martley Fields is a lovely development and one we’re so proud of – attention to detail is so important in all aspects and we have a great layout here.
“I’m particularly proud of two oak feature trees and the green spaces we have.”
Danny Tunstall, construction director at Lioncourt Homes, said: “For Phil and the site team to be recognised for their dedication to build quality and raising standards in house building is a huge honour.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate Phil, and the site team for all their hard work.”
