I’ll admit it: I’m very easily tempted by a beauty advent calendar. There’s something about opening a little door each day and discovering a new lipstick, skincare treat or mini beauty essential that makes the run-up to Christmas feel that bit more exciting.
So when I got a sneak peek at Aldi’s new Lacura 12 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar, I was intrigued – particularly when I saw the £19.99 price tag.

The calendar contains 12 Lacura beauty products spanning makeup, skincare, haircare and accessories, with a mixture of miniature and full-size products. And rather than feeling like it’s been padded out with 12 tiny samples, there’s a surprisingly varied selection inside.
Here’s exactly what’s included:
The ‘dupe’ of the Benefit mascara
My first pick would have to be the Lacura Girl Gone Bad Mascara – likely to catch the attention of Benefit fans, with its dramatic volume and defined-lash finish making it a budget-friendly alternative to the cult BADgal BANG! Mascara. At a fraction of the price, it’s perfect for party season.

There’s also the new Lacura ‘Perfect Peach’ Plumping Lip Gloss. The 5.1ml gloss is exclusive to the calendar and contains hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, alongside warming and cooling actives designed to give lips a fuller-looking, glossy finish.
I’m also rather tempted by the Lacura ‘Vanilla’ Lip Balm. Enriched with shea butter and murumuru seed butter, it promises to leave lips soft and hydrated without that sticky feeling I sometimes associate with lip balms. Considering how quickly my lips become dry once the weather turns colder, this feels like one I’d actually reach for every day.

Then there’s the Lacura ‘Pink Lace’ Liquid Blush has a lightweight, buildable formula, while the Set & Forget Clear Brow Gel is designed to keep brows in place for up to 24 hours.
But what I particularly like about this calendar is that it isn’t all makeup.
There are a few skincare treats tucked inside too, including a Hyaluronic Acid + Pomegranate Face Mask, Hydrogel Eye Pads with aloe vera and caffeine, and a Jade Gua Sha. Basically, everything you need for a little at-home pamper session when the December chaos gets too much.

The haircare offerings are equally practical. There’s a 50ml Leave-In Conditioner designed to smooth frizz and tackle tangles, plus a Hair Repair Oil that can be used on damp or dry hair to add shine and smooth the appearance of damaged lengths.
And because I’m a sucker for a beauty accessory, the inclusion of a chic claw clip and a large 100% silk scrunchie feels like a nice finishing touch.
What surprised me most is just how much variety there is for £19.99. Aldi’s Lacura range is already known for keeping its beauty products at relatively affordable prices, and the advent calendar follows that same approach.

It’s also worth noting that Aldi’s 12 Days of Lacura Beauty Advent Calendar will be available in stores from 25th October, so this is definitely one to have on your radar if you’re already thinking about Christmas shopping.
For me, the appeal is that it feels like the sort of advent calendar you could buy for someone else – but equally, I wouldn’t blame you for keeping it for yourself.
At £19.99, it’s an affordable way to add a little bit of everyday luxury to December, and the exclusive plumping lip gloss is a particularly nice reason to get excited.
The only problem? With Aldi’s Specialbuys being available while stocks last, I suspect you’ll need to be quick once it lands in stores.
