Love locks to be removed from footbridge

The love locks on Sabrina Footbridge are set to be removed to allow for essential maintenance work.

Worcestershire County Council is encouraging anyone who has attached a lock to collect it from the bridge before September 1 when work begins.

The council said while the locks have become a “familiar sight” they can make it more difficult to maintain the bridge.

A spokesperson said: “Removing them now helps us keep the bridge safe, accessible, and in good condition for everyone who uses it.”

Any unclaimed locks will be stored until the end of September and can be collected from the County Council’s reception at Wildwood, WR5 2QT, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
