A MAN has been arrested after a shop was burgled in Upton-upon-Severn.
Officers from the Malvern Response Team and a Police Dog Unit were called out to a report of a burglary in Upton’s high street in the early hours of Saturday morning (September 5).
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “Following a prompt response and search of the area, a 34-year-old man was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of burglary.
“Property believed to have been stolen during the incident was also recovered nearby.”
The man was also wanted in connection with several other shop thefts and remains in police custody awaiting interview.
The spokesperson added: “This arrest highlights the value of timely reporting and the coordinated efforts of response officers and specialist resources in bringing offenders to justice.
