Man committed 24 sexual offences against multiple children

A MAN from Malvern has admitted to 24 sexual offences against multiple children.

Michael Farney, of Michael Crescent, Malvern, incited eight girls under the age of 16 to engage in sexual acts, the youngest being just six years old.

He made them look at sexual images, and attempted to do the same to two more girls.

The 51-year-old also took 40 indecent images of children, including six category A images, which are the worst kind.

Appearing for twice-postponed hearing at Worcester Crown Court on Monday, September 7, Farney pleaded guilty to all 24 counts, which included causing a child under 13 to look at an image of sexual activity, causing a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, causing a child aged 13 to 15 to look at an image of sexual activity, attempting to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to look at an image of sexual activity, attempting to cause a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity, and taking indecent images of children.

The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court for sentence on Friday, October 16.
