Man drove Volkswagen through Worcestershire village without seatbelt

A Hartlebury man has been sentenced for driving without a seatbelt and failing to identify a driver involved in an alleged motoring offence.

John Baines, of Southall Drive, appeared at Redditch Magistrates’ Court on July 27 for failing to provide details of the driver of a Volkswagen after being asked to by police, who believed the driver had committed an offence on October 23, 2025, in Droitwich.

He also appeared charged with failing to wear a seatbelt while driving a VW on Worcester Road, Hartlebury on July 24, 2025.

The 43-year-old admitted to both offences and was fined £230 and received six points on his licence.

He was also ordered to pay £135 in costs and a £92 surcharge.
