A MAN who stole over £100 worth of food and cleaning products from two supermarkets has been sent to prison.
Joshua Philpott, of Bays Meadow, Droitwich, appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 21) charged with two counts of theft from shops.
Philpott admitted to stealing £87 worth of items including steaks, a leg of lamb, drinks, pizza, washing pods and coffee from Asda, Worcester, on June 23.
He also pleaded guilty to stealing four packs of BBQ ribs worth £21 from a Tesco Express in Malvern four days later.

The 30-year-old was jailed for two weeks, one week for each offence, and ordered to pay compensation to the businesses he stole from.
The magistrates noted that the offences could only a custodial sentence could be justified, and Philpott was already serving time in prison at the time of the sentencing.
