Man taken to hospital with serious injuries after stabbing near school

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing in Kidderminster.

West Mercia Police said a man in his 20s was stabbed on Woodbury Road.

He is in a stable condition in hospital.

Detective Inspector Dave Knight said: “We are working hard to locate the person or people responsible, and our communities can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area.

“At this stage, we believe the suspect is known to the victim and it was a targeted attack with no threat to the wider community.

“The incident did not take place on school premises and is not connected to the nearby primary school, but officers are offering reassurance to staff and pupils.”
