Man who shot two German Shepherd dogs before staging false shooting scene jailed

A MAN who shot two dogs and moved their bodies in an attempt to justify the shooting has been jailed.

Richard Goode, 75, shot a pair of German Shepherd dogs in Malvern and then staged a false shooting scene in a field to make it look like the dogs were legally shot in April 2025.

Goode, of Hereford Road, Leigh Sinton, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday (October 8) to be sentenced for one count of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, criminal damage, and committing an act with intent to pervert the course of justice.

Goode had previously admitted to the first two offences in September, before also pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice at the hearing.

Judge Nicholas Cartwright sentenced Goode to 20 months in prison.

West Mercia Police were unable to provide a custody photo of Goode following his sentencing.
