A FORMER nurse turned entrepreneur has fulfilled her dream of opening a bakery and coffee shop.
Hope Bell, founder and CEO of the online bakery Chummys, will open one of her first stores in Droitwich next weekend after turning a hobby into a full-time venture.
“If someone had told me a few years ago that my hobby of baking for friends and family would one day lead to opening my own bakery and coffee shop, I never would have believed them,” she said.
Ms Bell began her business while juggling her nursing job, focusing on baking in her spare time.

Her hobby soon grew into an online postal bakes business before becoming the new store that will open on The Row on Hanbury Road on June 27.
Ms Bell said: “We’re incredibly excited to be opening our doors and bringing Chummys to the high street.
“Looking back, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come, and having a physical bakery and coffee shop feels like a dream come true.”
Chummys has built its reputation on handmade baked goods, originally delivered through its postal service.

Ms Bell said: “Since launching Chummys, we’ve always focused on creating handmade bakes that people genuinely look forward to receiving, sharing and celebrating with.
“We hope to offer a warm and welcoming space where people can enjoy freshly baked goods, great coffee and a friendly atmosphere.”

The bakery aims to offer a cosy environment for customers whether they’re stopping in for a morning treat or meeting friends.
Ms Bell said: “Everything we create is made with quality ingredients, plenty of care and attention to detail.
“We want people to feel at home when they visit, whether they’re popping in for a morning coffee, meeting friends, or picking up a sweet treat.
“We can’t wait to meet customers face-to-face and become part of people’s everyday routines.
“This opening is a huge milestone for us, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors.”
Plans for the future include developing new products and expanding the Chummys brand.
