Popular peri-peri chicken chain reveals how new restaurant’s first week has gone

A popular peri-peri chicken chain has said that it has ‘loved’ welcoming customers to its new store in Kidderminster during its first week.

The new Nando’s restaurant on Riverside Walk opened on Wednesday, July 1 and appears to be a hit with Kidderminster’s PERi-PERi chicken lovers.

According to the Kidderminster Nando’s general manager, Tara Hanney, the first week has been ‘brilliant’, with customers enjoying the new restaurant’s ‘beautiful’ interior.

She said: “The first week has been brilliant.

“We’ve loved welcoming fans old and new to our beautiful new restaurant in Kidderminster.

“The energy has been high amongst Nando’s and customers, all enjoying the space and our iconic PERi-PERi.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming more customers and building more connections in the local community in the coming weeks too.”

The success of the new Nando’s restaurant in Kidderminster comes after hungry customers had been ‘queuing’ outside ahead of its official opening.

As part of the opening of the new Nando’s, the first 70 customers to visit the restaurant were given a free bottle of Nando’s hot sauce, which featured special Kidderminster branding.

Plans for the Nando’s restaurant on Riverside Walk were unanimously approved by Wyre Forest District Council in April, with council leader, Cllr Marcus Hart, calling it an ‘important addition’ to the Kidderminster town centre.

He said: “We welcome Nando’s to town and wish them every success.

“It’s great that Nando’s has chosen Kidderminster as part of its national expansion plans.

“Nando’s is an important addition to our vision of creating a destination town centre that draws people in throughout the day and into the evening.

“Nando’s at the Riverside Walk will significantly add to the choices for residents and visitors to meet up and have a great time in town with its other attractions.”
