Members of a riding school described being “trapped by flames” as they helped save horses from the fire.
Abbie Harvey, Izzy Williams, yard owner Helen Walker and Charlotte Griffiths, from Sugarloaf Equestrian Centre, helped rescue eight horses after the fire engulfed their field.
Ms Harvey said the group could “feel the heat” right behind them as they loaded the horses into a lorry.
She said: “We knew we had to get these horses out as their field was on fire! At one point we were trapped by the flames whilst trying to load them into the lorry it was right behind us and we could all feel the heat.
“Myself, Izzy Williams, Helen Walker, the yard owner, and Charlotte Griffiths are all from Sugarloaf Equestrian Centre, the riding school, which was near the fire.
“We all sprung into action and helped rescue 8 horses in the end.”
The horses have not been affected and are safe.
