A NEW city centre sports and cocktail bar has opened to huge praise.
Social Sticks has opened in Angel Place after almost three months of extensive renovations.
Max Chinook, general manager of Social Sticks Worcester, said: “We opened our Bromsgrove venue about two years ago.
“Reece, the founder, had this great idea for this social-friendly environment where everyone can have fun but also go for a drink if they want.
“Bromsgrove was a great experience, but we have been looking for a site in Worcester for about 6 months when we came across this beautiful building.
“We have done 10 weeks of renovations where we pulled it right back to its brickwork.
“We are really pleased with how it’s turned out.”

Social Sticks took over the Angel Place venue from Dartside, who have since moved to The Arches.

The building is one of the larger locations in the city centre, which is one of the key reasons it was so perfect for the team.
Mr Chinook said: “We had to look for a bigger building because our golf bays take up quite a lot of space.
“It is also quite nice to have the open plan where everyone can see what is going on because it creates a nice atmosphere.”

Social Sticks offers virtual golf bays, equipped with clubs and balls, and dartboards for activities, while the seating area has six large screens showing live sport.
After a family and friends night on Wednesday (October 21), the business welcomed its first customers on Friday (October 23).

Mr Chinook said: “We were pretty much fully booked from 5pm and all our golf bays and dartboards were booked out.
“We had great reviews of Smokey Joe’s barbecue in the kitchen.
“It was really successful, and we are really pleased for our staff who have done an incredible job over the last few days.”

He said: “We love to do Christmas bookings, whether that is for social or business.
“We will also be doing a Christmas offer, which will give people a whole package with a bit of golf and a bit of darts.
“We have also got some DJs and live music who will be doing some stuff over the Christmas period, so we are very much looking forward to December.”
